Frequently Asked Questions
Does this ultrasound take place of an ultrasound at my doctor's office?
NO! Ultrasounds performed by Baby's Grand Debut are non-medical/ELECTIVE..essentialy just for fun! We can not provide a medical diagnosis, or give medical advice. At no time should an ultrasound performed at Baby's Grand Debut be used for diagnostic purposes.
Can I bring family/friends to appointments?
OF COURSE! We have seating for up to 14 people in our Ultrasound viewing room. We also welcome/encourage you to bring your kids with, to experience seeing their new sibling and have a chance to have questions answered and see baby for themselves! We also have a play area with toys and activities for kids of all ages!
How should I prepare for my ultrasound?
Images are best when you are hydrated. Please remember to drink plenty of water for about a week leading up to your appointment.
Eat or drink something naturally sugary or sweet 10-15 minutes before your session... as this tends to wake baby up and give you a better chance for different views!
Is my ultrasound covered by insurance?
Elective ultrasounds are not covered by insurance, as they are considered elective and keepsake by nature.
What kind of ultrasound equipment do you use to perform the ultrasound?
Baby's Grand Debut is proud to say that we recently purchased a very high quality ultrasound machine, a Samsung Hera W10, which has all of the features and more to be able to get the best images of your baby.
What if we don't get any good images of my baby during my appointment?
There are many factors that influence image quality, including fetal position, amount of amniotic fluid and amount of maternal tissue. We make every effort to obtain the best possible pictures of your baby, but if your baby remains “uncooperative” throughout your entire session, it may be necessary to repeat the scan at a later date when the position has changed. This is at the discretion of the sonographer and is of course, free of charge.
